ABOUT

What We Believe

This Church recognizes the Bible as the sufficient rule of faith and practice and holds that living in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ is the true test of fellowship. Each member shall have the undisturbed right to follow the Word of God, under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. The following statement of faith or principles, therefore, is an expression of the spirit in which the Church interprets the Word of God.
  • The Bible

We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God. That it is without error in the original and that we have reasonably accurate copies of it in our standard English translations.

We believe the Bible is ultimately our only rule of faith and practice. This does not rule out sound reason but places it below the authority of God's Word.
  • The Trinity

We believe the Bible teaches that God is a triune God; that there are three persons in the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one in essence. (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19)
  • Jesus

We believe our Lord, Jesus Christ, is the only begotten Son of God; that He is truly God and truly man; that these two natures unite in the one person, Jesus Christ; and that the nature of God and man were never fused or confused, even though they are united in His person.
  • Jesus

We believe in our Lord's virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return again in power and glory to judge the living and dead and establish His eternal kingdom.
  • Sin & Salvation

We believe Christ, our Lord, died for all our sins and that He sent the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to regenerate man so that he may truly repent and believe in Christ and God's promises through Him. Individuals are saved (receive eternal life) and delivered from hell by receiving Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and not by works. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
  • Marriage

We believe in the sanctity of the institution of marriage as ordained by God in Scripture and, therefore, marriage shall be restricted exclusively as the covenantal union between one biological man and one biological woman and shall not be altered by changes in civil law or church polity.
  • The Church

We believe that God, through Christ, has called us into His church to be followers of Him, by proclaiming the Gospel to all the World, by resisting the powers of evil and aiding the causes of righteousness, by administering the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, and by joining together to worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24), by teaching and preaching God's Word, and by showing mutual concern for the physical and spiritual welfare of one another.
